Arrival of Windows 10

The new Operating System of Microsoft will launch on 29th July 2015. It is named as Windows 10 although the previous operating system was Windows 8.1, because this operating system is completely different from others and this will be a new experience for the world.

Technical Preview

This is the final Windows OS which will launch from a new brand name. But it doesn't mean that, after establishment they will not give support or make any develop in Windows OS. They are going to update Windows 10 instantly as soon as a new item/program is added to the operating system.

New Features
Windows 10 OS has a lot of new features. Lets see them...

Windows Cortana

• Microsoft Cortana - This is a technology which we can give commands for PC or mobile device from our voice. It is like a clever personal assistant of you. You can browse the internet and control your device without any touch.
• Microsoft Edge - This is the web browser which is introduced instead of Internet Explorer. Earlier this was named as Windows Spartan Browser. This is faster than any other web browser. 2D and 3D graphics in web pages can be seen very effectively and quickly(Rendering Engine).
• Xbox Live - Windows 10 allow you to share video games of Xbox live device. When you are completing missions of games you can share it as a video clip.
• Windows Hello - It can provide instant access to your device by bio-metric authentication. You must only show your face, touch by your finger. Then it will recognize you instantly. So you must not type password in traditional manner. It is more secure.
• Windows Continuum - You can make your mobile device into a desktop computer instantly. This software tool provide that facility. You can attach a keyboard, mouse and use the device easily.
• Emoji - There are so many Emoji images(representing facial expression by pictographs) in this operating system.
• And also Windows Store and new apps also bring Windows 10 closer to the user.

Upgrading Options
Windows 10 can be brought free as an upgrade for the computers which already have Windows 7, Windows 8 or 8.1. But they must be genuine. Unless you have to pay for operating system.

Upgrading message

The message have been sent for above operating systems. You can see the windows logo on the notification area. Click on it and follow instructions. Then you can reserve the upgrade.
There are two editions of Windows 10 as,

1. Windows 10 Home Edition
2. Windows 10 Pro Edition

Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 7 Home Basic and Home Premium editions will be upgrade to Windows 10 Home Edition.

Windows 8/8.1 Pro and Windows 7 Professional and Ultimate Editions will be upgrade to Windows 10 Pro.

This offer will not allowed for Windows Enterprise and RT editions.

Remember...!!! Windows 10 will give free only until 28th July 2016. After that we must pay if we didn't upgrade our OS. It also can be done in two ways..

1. Boxed Product(Windows 10 in DVD)
2. Volume Licensing

Transparent Solar Panels

Solar panel is a popular way that man get electricity easily for free. Scientifically this is known as a photo-voltaic device. Because it gain photons and it emits electrons commensurable for that.
Solar panels were look like black color. But now, it has become transparent.

                             This is founded by Richard Lunt with researchers of Michigan university. This production is look like a glass. So it can be used instead of glass used in windows. And also computer screens, phone screens and television screens can make using this. So it can generate electricity easily.
This can be used as a solution for the power consumption of smartphones.

                            In these panels the glass has made by mixing an organic salt. It absorbs the ultra-violet rays and infra-red rays of the sun.Then it get glimmer as it also emits infrared rays.These are transferred to the normal solar panels(blackish color) at the both ends of the glass. So all sun rays can be used for this process.

                            Michigan researchers are said that most suitable Transparent Luminescent Solar Concentrators which are used to concentrate solar energy,  can be used for production of transparent solar panels and they would be excellent in efficiency.

Why actual capacity is lower than printed capacity in Storage devices?

This is my first article of this blog. Sometimes you may have face to this problem when using storage devices like Hard Disk, Pen Drive. Standard units of measuring capacity are as follow.

•        8 bit     = 1 byte
• 1024 bytes = 1 KB (1024 Bytes)
• 1024 KB     = 1 MB (1024 x 1024 Bytes)
• 1024 MB    = 1 GB (1024 x 1024 x 1024 Bytes)
• 1024 GB     = 1 TB (1024 x 1024 x 1024 x 1024 Bytes)

These are in the form of 1024 to the power of 2.

But when producing these memory devices in factories, those units are changed as follow to calculate easily.

• 1000 bytes = 1 KB (1000 Bytes)
• 1000 KB     = 1 MB (1000 x 1000 Bytes)
• 1000 MB    = 1 GB (1000 x 1000 x 1000 Bytes)
• 1000 GB     = 1 TB (1000 x 1000 x 1000 x 1000 Bytes)

Namely they are in the form of 1000 to the power of 2.

As an example ; 5 GB = 5000 MB = 5000000000 Bytes(5 x 1000 x 1000 x 1000).
But after plug(attach) the device into USB port of a computer, computer translate those Bytes into Gigabytes by dividing it by 1024 to the power 3(1073741824 Bytes). Then computer display that final answer(5 GB = 4.65 GB).
So we can see that there is a difference between printed capacity and actual capacity and actual capacity is lower than printed capacity.
